Likes: emotionally stunted people trying to connect with each other, fix-it fics or other forms of canon divergence AU, wild or fantastical setting AUs that maintain characterization, big swings (in the sense of daring narrative choices or unusual ideas), silliness.

 

RE: themes, I’m pretty much up for anything. My horror preferences lean towards supernatural horror (ghosts, demons, evil architecture, werewolves, vampires, cryptids, Lovecraftian horrors, etc.) and away from realistic stuff (serial killers, home invasions, torture porn, etc.). Would also be very into a Babadook-esque thing where the supernatural element is representative of a more mundane kind of horror, like losing a loved one. Seasonal is also great; I’m a big fan of coziness and leaves and apple cider and sweaters and a cold snap in the air, and that’s what fall’s like for most or all of these canons. I’m also OK with no theme. Don’t feel obligated to crowbar a Mothman or a pumpkin patch into a fic if you don’t want to or if the idea you’ve settled on doesn’t really lend itself to that. Alternatively, get yourself a whole bunch of crowbars and cram Mothmen anywhere they’ll fit. Go where the spirit moves you, baby.

 

 

My passion for this movie is undying and all-consuming, like some kind of wendigo. Supernatural horror is baked into the setting, but needn’t necessarily be heavily present in the fic itself. Boyd/Ives is a classic, and while dying in each other’s arms is all well and good, I’d love some fic where Ives’ plan to make Fort Spencer into a secret cannibal clubhouse works out, the two of them are basically running an evil bed and breakfast together, and they now have to awkwardly navigate an extremely tense domestic partnership that could turn violent at any second. Or it doesn’t work out and they have to go on the run together and they STILL have to awkwardly navigate an extremely tense domestic partnership that could turn violent at any second. The external appearance of fluff, but the internal tension of a cat-and-mouse thriller. That kind of mood.

 

Reich/Toffler is just a favorite of mine. Their interactions, though brief and few in canon, are very sweet and surprising, given that these two characters don’t seem like natural companions. I love how protective Reich is of Toffler and how comparatively comfortable Toffler seems with Reich. I wanna see the big scary soldier man and the tiny, timid, soft-spoken dude fall in love with each other in stoic near-silence. Pre-canon or post-canon fix-it fic both suit my terrible needs.

 

Boyd/Reich isn’t actually something I’ve thought about much, but it’s in the tagset and boy they have a weird energy to them, don’t they? I want them to have weird, one-sided hatemance where Reich is completely consumed with horny rage and Boyd is just quietly baffled but rolling with it.
 

 

 

 

When I rewatch the first John Wick movie, I'm always really struck by Viggo/Avi. The intimacy between those characters is so palpable and surprising. I love that they're so obviously comfortable around each other. I love that they keep exchanging weird little conspiratorial looks that are laden with shared history. I love that Avi carries Viggo's cigarettes for him. I love that Viggo lets Avi hide behind him during a shootout. I'm a big fan of domesticity between sinister people, and they have this in spades. 
 

 

John/Marcus is the other thing that I am struck by. It's Very Good. Love the loyalty, love the trust, love the shared dark past, love the Marcus-watching-over-John-via-sniper-scope stuff, love Marcus's extremely comfortable-looking bathrobe that he wears. 
 

 

 

 

I don’t think I have a lot of unique thoughts about Holden/Bill, beyond thinking, (like a lot of people did), that post-s2 grief regarding Bill’s family leaving him is in order, and maybe some stuff needs to go down on that bare mattress. If Bill bottoms and is repressed about it, I shall swear fealty to you and only you.
